This second recording in Federico’s discography, released in 1995, received its’ title because of its’ characteristic musical point of departure in comparison with his first release, Returning.  As opposed to the more thick and layered sound heard on Federico’s debut album, Another Viewpoint is less dense and more organic/earthy sounding primarily because there were fewer instruments used to record and those instruments were mostly acoustical.  Featuring only a trio comprised of Federico on vibraphone, drums and percussion,  Dave Edwards on acoustic bass and guitarist John Sheridan, the title “Another Viewpoint” also has significance in the selection of material.  Whereas Retuning featured Federico's original New Age brand of Contemporary Jazz, this second effort takes a look at his ability to arrange the music of other writers, past and present.  Finally, Another Viewpoint is also so titled because it features Greg's debut performance on the vibraphone.

The 57-minute album features 11 tunes that span the generations.  There are four neatly arranged standards ranging from 1938 to 1963, an arrangement by each of two contemporary jazz composers (Al DiMeola, Pat Metheny), and five original compositions: 1 by Federico and 2 each by Dave Edwards and John Sheridan.

In Federico’s own words:  "Each recording is a kind of barometer measuring my improvement and maturity as a musician.  This record, to me, was a positive stepping stone in many ways. . .it was nice to do a recording that has served as sort of an antithesis to my other efforts.
