Ten all-original, style-varied jazz
tunes span 62 minutes of music. This
recording features 9 compositions by Federico, as well
as the title track which is a free improvisation by B.D.
Lenz, Dave Edwards, and Greg Federico entitled
"Purity". In contrast to Federico's 2000
release, "Live To Love, Love To Live", which
was a highly produced and arranged project and was
completed in several recording sessions spanning over a
year, "Purity" was recorded in just three
days. Says Federico: "Of my four recordings, this
record reigns as most accurately capturing our live
sound."
This 1998 release features guitarists
B.D. Lenz and John Sheridan, pianist Daniel Mintseris,
acoustic bassist Ron Velosky, electric bassist James
Rosocha, and multi-instrumentalist Dave Edwards on piano
and acoustic and electric basses. Rounding out the group
is drummer/percussionist/pianist/composer Greg Federico. |
